Emma James
Coach Emma James enters her 2nd year at Coppell. She currently serves as the Coppell Middle School West Coach (Cross Country, 8th Grade Girls Basketball, Track & Field). Coach James brings 2 total years of coaching experience. Her past coaching experience includes Coppell Middle School West, 2022-2023, Head Cross Country Coach, Assistant 8th Grade Girls Basketball Coach, Long Distance Track and Field Coach. An impressive track of success, Coach James’ 8th Grade Boys Cross Country Team placed 2nd at Meet of Champions last year (2022-2023).
As an athlete, Coach James played volleyball and basketball at a high school in Fayetteville, Georgia. She a shooting guard in basketball and an outside hitter in volleyball. She went on to Western Carolina University earning a Middle Grades Education with a concentration in History degree. She also graduated with a minor in Teaching English as a Second Language.
Away from coaching, Coach James enjoys Reading and fun fact, she can sing and play a little guitar.
CISD Athletics is filled with coaches that care. When asked “Why you coach”, Coach James responded “I coach because my coaches helped me realize my potential in many things, athletics related or not. Coaches are to be present to teach, help, and encourage student athletes to be better at all things. Coaching is a special job, and it is one I've always seen myself doing.”
