Dan Thompson
Coach Dan Thompson enters his 6th year at Coppell. He currently serves as the Media Instructor and Boys Athletics at CMS North. Coach Thompson brings 6 total years of coaching experience. His past coaching experience includes CMS North Boys Soccer 2015-2016, Co-Head Coach.
As an athlete, Coach Thompson played Football- RB, WR, and DB; Basketball- G; Track- sprints and LJ,HJ; Wrestling; Golf, and Baseball- OF/P with tremendous accolades including 2A Illinois Football State Championship Game. He went on to Purdue University earning a BA in Education degree.
Away from coaching, Coach Thompson enjoys Sports and movies and fun fact, he has jumped out of a plane from 13,500 feet. His favorite quote, “So many options from The Office to make me laugh”
CISD Athletics is filled with coaches that care. When asked “Why you coach”, Coach Thompson responded “Personally, I have always loved athletics. I played anything and everything as a kid, and now have the opportunity to share this passion with our CISD athletes in a number of sports. Seeing these individuals find their own love for the game, whatever that may be, is the biggest reward I receive as a coach!”
