Sarah Nielsen
Coach Sarah Nielsen enters her 1st year at Coppell. She currently serves as the Girls Coordinator at West Middle School. Coach Nielsen brings 22 total years of coaching experience. Her past coaching experience includes Round Rock ISD for 18 years and Plano ISD for 2 years. An impressive track of success, Coach Nielsen posts several District Championships in Round Rock ISD from 2010 to 2021 and multiple undefeated seasons.
As an athlete, Coach Nielsen played Volleyball, basketball, track, and softball at Belmond/Klemme High School (Volleyball: Middle Blocker Basketball: Center and Power Forward Track: Ran 200's, 400's, did long and high jump, Softball: Centerfield and Short stop) with tremendous accolades including Volleyball: Honorable Mention, Basketball: 1st Team All Conference with several shooting records, Softball: Honorable Mention and 1st Team All Conference. She went on to play Volleyball at University of Northern Iowa as Defensive Specialist earning a Education with a Minor in Language Arts/Physical Education degree.
Away from coaching, Coach Nielsen enjoys Playing sand volleyball at her friend's lakehouse and fun fact, she grew up on a farm in Iowa. Her favorite quote, “Live life to the fullest”
CISD Athletics is filled with coaches that care. When asked “Why you coach”, Coach Nielsen responded “My WHY in coaching is my desire and dedication to help and mold students into becoming a better athlete and person. To build relationships, teach teamwork, build confidence in students on and off the court. To be a good role model for them, so they can go out into this world and make healthy, wise, and safe decisions.”
