Sarah Nielsen serves as the Assistant Athletic Coordinator, helps lead girls athletics, and teaches Physical Education at Coppell Middle School West. She brings more than two decades of middle school coaching and athletic leadership experience from Round Rock, Plano, and Coppell ISDs.

Nielsen has coached volleyball, basketball, and track teams to numerous district and tournament championships, including several undefeated seasons. A graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Education, she also played collegiate volleyball as a defensive specialist.

Nielsen describes coaching as planting a seed—introducing students to fundamentals, leadership, collaboration, and the confidence that comes from belonging to a team. An Iowa farm girl, she still helps her parents raise Angus cattle, corn, and soybeans. She also enjoys traveling, fitness, boating, and serving her church.
