Kate Gilbert
Coach Kate Gilbert enters her 14th year at Coppell. She currently serves as the Assistant Athletic Coordinator CMS East. Coach Gilbert brings 14 total years of coaching experience. Her past coaching experience includes CMS East girls' coach volleyball, basketball, track, XC. An impressive track of success, Coach Gilbert posts Coppell Coach of Year 2021 and several district championships.
As an athlete, Coach Gilbert played volleyball DS, basketball G, track long distance at Coppell HS with tremendous accolades including Cross Country Regionals and Coppell track MVP. She went on to TCU earning a Social Work degree.
Away from coaching, Coach Gilbert enjoys travel and fun fact, she played basketball for Coach Springer in the 90's.
CISD Athletics is filled with coaches that care. When asked “Why you coach”, Coach Gilbert responded “It is such a privilege to watch the athletic, academic, and personal growth of young ladies from the time we meet them at 12 years old until they graduate high school. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing former athletes blossom into adults that are leaving positive impacts in Coppell and far beyond.”
