Maxine Sturch

Maxine Sturch serves as an Assistant Girls Wrestling Coach and teaches Medical Terminology at Coppell High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, magna cum laude, from The University of Texas at Dallas and a master’s degree in Education from Southern Methodist University.

Before coaching wrestling, Sturch competed internationally in karate as a member of Team USA from 2007 through 2022. Her career included a Pan American Championship medal, three World Team alternate selections, and multiple national and state finals. As a wrestling coach, she has helped produce district and regional championship teams, state qualifiers and medalists, and collegiate wrestlers. She has twice earned district and Coppell assistant coach of the year honors and was selected to coach Team Texas at the 2025 Junior National Championships.

Her coaching mantra centers on tough, tender love; mutual respect, trust, and communication; and believing every athlete can win on the mat and in life. Outside of school, Sturch enjoys lifting, combat sports, biking, and time with her family.
