Wendy Flaherty
Coach Wendy Flaherty enters her 5th year at Coppell. She currently serves as the Varsity Assistant Soccer Coach, JV 1 Head Coach, JV2 Coach. Coach Flaherty brings 23 total years of coaching experience. Her past coaching experience includes Girls Varsity Soccer Coach Lewisville High School, Girls Junior Varsity Soccer Coach, Lewisville High School, Freshmen “B” Team Girls Volleyball Coach Lewisville High School North,7th Grade Head Basketball Coach and 8th Grade Assistant Basketball Coach, 7th and 8th Grade Head Soccer Coach.
As an athlete, Coach Flaherty played (Center Mid), Basketball (point guard, shooting guard), Volleyball (setter), Softball ( Short stop, 3rd and outfield) at Hobart High School in Hobart IN. She went on to play Soccer (center Mid), Basketball (point guard, shooting guard), an Softball (outfield) at Huron Universityearning a Bachelors of Education degree followed by Masters in Special Education.
Away from coaching, Coach Flaherty enjoys Spending time with family and fun fact, she likes onion rings but hates onions. Her favorite quote, “Hard Work beats Talent when Talent doesn’t work hard”
CISD Athletics is filled with coaches that care. When asked “Why you coach”, Coach Flaherty responded “I coach to impact the lives of our players. To make sure that when the sport is over they have the tools they need to be a positive member of our society.”
