Jonathan Drori

Coach Jon Drori enters his 2nd year at Coppell. He currently serves as the Head Boys & Girls Swim and Dive Coach. Coach Drori brings 15 total years of coaching experience. His past coaching experience includes O2 Performance Aquatics  regional head coach; 3 years assistant coaching; Lifetime 3 years head coaching, 4 years assistant coaching. An impressive track of success, Coach Drori posts during his 1st year at Coppell:18 swimmers to regionals, 9 to state, 2 state finalists. 2nd overall in District, 3rd overall in Region, and 10 school records broken. 

As an athlete, Coach Drori was a swimmer at Berkeley Aquatics Club in Berkeley Heights, NJ with Head Coach Jim Wood. with tremendous accolades including State Champions Men's 4x100 Medley Relay. He went on to Captain the NJIT Men's Swimming & Diving Team. at New Jersey Institute of Technology earning a Biology degree.

Away from coaching, Coach Drori enjoys Watching Premier League, listening to books, and playing video games and fun fact, he is a Huge Manchester City fan; following the club since 2004. His favorite quote, “You don't start climbing in the middle of the mountain.”

CISD Athletics is filled with coaches that care. When asked “Why you coach”, Coach Drori responded “I coach swimming because it's an extremely difficult sport mentally and physically. It puts the athletes in a position where they do not improve unless they really put the work in to do so. There's no shortcuts, no time-outs, no substitutions, no passing the ball to a teammate, just you and the work you put in to be better.”
