Coach Ross inaugural 2022 season was impressive with a record of 34-11, bi-district playoff appearance, and state ranked. A team led by a strong senior class with many records set Skye LaMendola reached 1000 career kills; Taylor Young reached 2000 career assists; and Sabina Frosk all-time defensive record. Looking to the 2023 season, key returners of Mira Klem and Kate Macdonald look to draw the energy from last season and set the tone for continued excellence. This year will add a lot of youth to the lineup who are already showing outstanding athletic potential. With many interchangeable parts, Coppell Volleyball will focus on ball control and defense hoping to capitalize with a dynamic quick offense. A Coach Ross team also always has advantages through top-notch conditioning through the coined RossFit which uses coach’s level 1 CrossFit certification to create endurance including power cleans, overhead squats, burpees, box jumps, etc. A preview of the district shows Flower Mound and Plano East to be tough contenders.
Coppell ISD Athletics is filled with coaches that care. When asked “Why you coach”, Coach Ross responded, “I coach because I want to make a difference in the lives of the next generation and teach them about life through the hard work and competition that come with being an athlete and a member of a team.”
