Yvette Carson
Coach Yvette Carson enters her 19th year at Coppell. She currently serves as the Head Athletic Trainer. Coach Carson brings 26 total years of experience. Her past experience includes Arlington Lamar 1997 - 2001, Assistant Athletic Trainer; Baylor Tom Landry Fitness Center, 1997-2004, Aquatics Supervisor, athletic trainer, Coppell High School, 2004 - present, Co-Head Athletic Trainer. An impressive track of success, Coach Carson posts Team Behind the Team, 2019; Team Behind the Team, 2022.
As an athlete, Coach Carson participated in Volleyball (Setter), Basketball (Post), High Jumper, Girls (Doubles Tennis) with tremendous accolades including All District Setter, Regional Volleyball Tournament, Regional Basketball Tournament, Regional Tennis Qualifier. She went on to University of Texas for Rowing, 4 man scull earning a Kinesiology degree followed by a Masters of Liberal Arts.
Away from coaching, Coach Carson enjoys knitting and fun fact, she is a coach’s kid. His favorite quote, “Don’t be scared - be prepared.” CISD Athletics is filled with coaches that care. When asked “Why you coach”, Coach Carson responded “Every moment of athletic training is different, two identical injuries can present in completely different ways. The challenges of staying on top of the collection of the latest sports health information and decimating between fact and fiction keeps me engaged. Building relationships with athletes as they encounter the parts of participation which are not pleasant keeps me humble and appreciative of the wonders of the human mind and body.”
