Coppell Girls Cross Country turned in a fourth-place team finish in the Open Girls 5K at the DUB East XC Invitational on Aug. 28 at Founders Park in Wylie.
The Cowgirls finished with 137 points, behind Wylie, Royse City and Frisco Wakeland. Coppell’s five scoring runners combined for a team time of 1:53:40 and an average of 22:44.
Angie Nguyen led Coppell with a seventh-place finish in 21:24.0. Vanini Agarwal followed in 14th place with a time of 21:46.3.
Anandi Dhulipalla was Coppell’s third finisher, placing 30th in 22:54.1. Adeline Mendola finished 51st in 23:44.9, while Avery Fishman completed the Cowgirls’ scoring five with a 55th-place finish in 23:50.4.
The fourth-place finish gave Coppell one of the stronger team results in a large Open Girls field and was highlighted by two top-15 individual finishes.
