Coppell Volleyball went 2-0 on Day 2 of the GCISD Tournament, earning a four-set win over Grapevine before sweeping defending Class 4A Division I state champion Decatur at Grapevine High School.
The Cowgirls opened the day with a 3-1 win over Grapevine, taking the match 25-18, 23-25, 25-18 and 25-15.
Coppell followed with a 3-0 sweep of Decatur, winning 25-20, 25-17 and 25-20.
Brooke Felix led the Cowgirls with 26 kills, 21 digs and eight blocks across the two matches. Taylor Mechsner added 23 kills and three blocks, while Finley Penniman finished with 16 kills and seven blocks. Channing Delzell contributed 15 kills.
Zoey Ponsen recorded 74 assists, 26 digs and three blocks. Defensively, Hailey Chew added 26 digs, Alette Brown finished with 23 digs and Taliah Ellis recorded seven blocks.
With the two victories, Coppell improves to 9-6 on the season.
